QATAR'S OUTSTANDING PARTICIPATION IN THE ARAB CONFERENCE ON THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN IN MUSCAT DR. MANSOUR AL SAADI: THE WORLD IS CELEBRATING 30 YEA
The Center for Protection and Social Rehabilitation (AMAN) under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation for Social Action participated in the 6th Arab International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (Aspcan) Conference, which was held in Muscat at Amman Exhibition and Conference Center on September 15-17, under the auspices of The Council of Ministers of Oman and in partnership with UNICEF.

The conference witnessed distinguished Qatari participation represented by Aman Center, Sedra Hospital and the Department of Juvenile Welfare at the Ministry of Interior,
2020 Conference in Qatar
Sedra Hospital has announced that it will host the conference in its next session in 2020 in cooperation with a number of children's stakeholders in Qatar, entitled “Child Protection past, present, and future Experience", and Aman Center is considered one of the most important partners in organizing and preparing for this next conference in cooperation with Sedra.
Conference objectives
The aim of the conference is to defend the rights of children, highlight abuse, including children with disabilities, and to identify the international community's efforts to promote child protection and child abuse prevention programs, as well as to share best practices and programs, Innovations on child abuse prevention and areas to improve services for their protection, as well as the transfer of knowledge and skills to the next generation, including young experts, encouraging cooperation and establishing new projects in this area.
Aman center Experience
Aman Center Report presented by Dr. Mansour Al-Saadi Al-Yafei. In collaboration with Dr. Asma Al-Attiyah, Head of The Department of Psychological Sciences at Qatar University- Faculty of Education-, and Dr. Abdullah Badhadeh of the University of Dakota in the United States, estimates the number of children for the world's population focusing on the Arab region and the Gulf, and the concept of child safety was reviewed based on UNICEF's international standards for effective awareness of children's issues such as conformity with customs and traditions and government commitment to provide security, health, education and Open discussion with children and providing them with appropriate life skills, enacting more legislation protecting children, providing monitoring and reporting mechanisms, providing rehabilitation and integration services and assisting parents and those around children to provide adequate care.

Dr. Mansour Al Saadi, Executive Director of the Center for Protection and Social Rehabilitation Aman, said, "We are proud that one of Qatar's most recent ongoing achievements is the establishment of the National Committee for Women, Children, The Elderly and Persons with special needs."
Al-Saadi added that civil society in Qatar is working to translate the Convention on the Rights of the Child into practical applications. Awareness, protection and rehabilitation are the main objectives of Aman Center, stressing that the Center adheres to the Universal Convention on the Rights of the Child and seeks to transform its texts to practical applications that reflect the most important principles of the Convention on the one hand and at the same time constitute the best practices that can be emulated by other bodies and centers. In particular, Aman is the regional representative-elected for the Middle East and North Africa region of The Supporting Children's Lines.
He added that the Report, that he presented was based on providing the most important programs and initiatives of the Center for Safety and Best Practices in the field of awareness and protection of children such as the campaign “Do not touch me" using Robot to prevent harassment against children, and the campaign “Pick Up your Kids" to provide psychological safety for children and invest the time in the dialogue between parents and the children and “helped me" application to report child abuse, the application of Shawarini for social, psychological and legal consultations, awareness safety bus, day care home, child-friendly and non-violent games such as “fishing, simen diving sinyar “and safety robot, and a safety watch to track the movement of the child And a safety camera to monitor the child in the car, the book distribution machine initiative, and awareness safety competitions.

He pointed out that the participation of Aman Center in the conference made a number of important recommendations, including the importance of developing legislation on children and preparing more inter-studies based on a common database, and the formation of an Arab National Committee for Children to develop a strategy for children, and granting control judicial for social and psychological workers, the need to involve children and young people in conferences and different events.
